COMMUNITY COMPOSTING

The urban compost bins It is designed for installation at street level, thus allowing free access for all road users. They may be bolted to the ground, which gives it greater robustness against possible vandalism attacks. 

They are the only compost bins on the market that are 100% made from recycled plastic from the landfill.

What can we compost?

The BCU composter is capable of composting all types of raw and cooked solid organic waste, food waste and yard waste (grass, flowers, leaves, etc. Pruning remains must be previously crushed) mixed with sawdust, splinters or crushed pruning as a structuring agent and as a source of carbon input.

Also compost meat and fish but the bones should not be put in the composter, as they do not decompose. Liquid food waste cannot be composted (Cooking oil, water, soups, etc.)

The composting process requires a good carbon/nitrogen ratio and domestic organic waste normally has a high nitrogen content, which must be counteracted by adding structuring material.

It has a shelf life of at least 15 years.

It is included inside the composter.

They should be located in contact with the natural soil to allow access to decomposing organisms present in the soil. It is advisable to previously provide the surface with a permeable substrate. The environment must be built using a consistent pavement that ensures correct access for users - we also recommend recycled plastic as a solution to plastic waste and as a circular economy model compared to other pavements.

CHARACTERISTICS OF OUR PAVEMENTS

Breathable flooring, does not soak or deteriorate under water. Resistant to humidity. Adherent and safe surface against possible slips or falls.

  • Transitability resistant to rolling of heavy vehicles such as trucks weighing more than 40 t.
  • Very easy to install, we also have a tongue and groove model, depending on stock. 
  • Resistant to rot and corrosion. High resistance to migrations.
  • Draining or non-draining depending on the filling chosen. There may be differences in its grey colour due to the recycled plastic used in its manufacture.
  • It offers superior resistance to screw anchoring, avoiding cracks and breakages, unlike concrete, which tends to crack under this type of fixing.
